My Summer Essentials
Now that summer is in full wing, I thought I would share a few of my summer
essentials.
*I had to include this adorable photo I found on Pinterest. I think this photo pretty much sums up my ideal summer day :) P.S. I have French Bulldog and Boston Terrier obsession. |
My Top Summer Essentials
Sunscreen
Finding a good sunscreen that won't leave my face shiny or looking like a ghost has always been a challenge with dark complexion.
My current holy grail face sunscreen is the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunscreen with SPF 45. This sunscreen is not lying when it says dry touch! This sunblock does exactly that as a light weight sunscreen with a matte finish. For those out there with oily skin this sunscreen this is a great option. This product has helped reduce my summer breakouts while protecting me my the sun.

Plain White Tee
Flowy Dress
For those days when shorts are not an option, a flowy dress is a must. They don't cling to the body and are very suitable for all body types especially for someone with a little more curves like myself.
Comfy Shoes
Comfy shoes could be anything from a good pair of sandals or sneakers. I hoped on the sneaker trend this season and have zero intentions of stepping off. My all white converse are my FAVORITE sneakers this season. I bought these sneakers a few weeks ago and haven't been able to take them off. This are SUPER comfy and the white color goes with all outfits.
Kimono
Kimonos have definitely made their mark this summer as a major trend and I hope it is here to stay. Kimonos are traditionally Japanese garments however the modern kimono of 2014 has a more bohemian or festival vibe. However, there is clear influence from the Japanese kimono with floral print commonly found on the modern kimono.
I like to think of the kimono as the summer cardigan of 2014. Kimono are great if you want to cover up a little on those breezy summer days but still lightweight and airy. They can be worn at the beach as a boho chic coverup or pairs with flowy dress or shorts for a relaxed look.
